Marketing is Fitness

I like to compare marketing to fitness. Everyone wants a six pack, and every business wants a healthy supply of customers. The problem is that most people don’t truly understand how to get a six pack, and so they never get one. I humbly consider myself as someone who is in the know when it comes to getting lean (among other things). And I can tell you that it’s not very hard… Provided that you consistently focus on what matters the most. In that case, the fastest way to get a sick pack is to consistently maintain a moderate caloric deficit over a period of time. That’s it. It’s not crunches, it’s not running, and it most certainly is not eating only “healthy” foods. I go into great detail about the various other subtleties that go along with getting lean on other mediums, but for the most part, it’s really that simple.

Bringing it Back to SEO

The same paradigm is true when it comes to modern day marketing. Businesses want plenty of customers, but the problem is that they completely miss the mark when it comes to marketing techniques. They don’t focus on what matters most and thus they waste resources on futility. Businesses need to start letting go of classical techniques because they are becoming less and less effective. One perfect example is getting an ad in the yellow pages. That ad will forever be lost in the ocean of pages and will never get any significant amount of eyeballs looking at it. It’s capital flushed down the toilet. As the boomers start retiring, the days of yellow page ads will continue to fade into obscurity. And by the way, don’t even get me started on what I think of Yellow Pages as a company 😉

How to Achieve the Six Pack of Marketing

Every month there are customers searching specifically for your  types of services. That number could be 5, or it could be 50,000. And it’s not a mysterious thing. We can get those numbers from Google. They tell us how many people are searching for things because they want you to buy ads with them. But there is another way to harness the power of this insane amount of people looking for your company. Work with people like Luxica to organically get you the recognition your business deserves on those search results. Working your way up the search result pages on Google is one of the BEST ways to get more customers. If your business isn’t focusing on that, then you can be sure that your competitors will, and that you will have a harder and harder time competing with them.

Closing Thoughts

When it comes to any endeavour in life, there’s usually always ONE THING someone can focus on consistently to get the best results. Luxica Consulting is about identifying those things and sticking to them, no matter what the job is.

Good luck out there,

Marcel
